Working for The Coffee Ethic

Thanks for being interested in working for The Coffee Ethic.  The coffee industry is a growing and exciting place to work.  On this page you will find a job description, a list of qualities we look for in a Barista and a job application.  One of the elements of our “Ethic” is that we value people, that certainly includes our employees.  We pay better than the average wages for Baristas in Springfield.  We also provide professional-level training and opportunities to continue to learn more about coffee and expand your skills.  You will be welcomed as part of a team with the owners and employees working together.  We have high expectations, but provide a fun and enjoyable work experience.

The Process: Read the information on this page.  If you are interested, download the pdf file job application.  Fill it out and either scan and email back to tom@thecoffeeethic.com or bring it by and give to Tom or Jim (owners).   We will keep all of applications on file until we have a need for a new position.   All applications are reviewed by the owners and staff to determine the best candidates to interview.  We would then contact those candidates for an interview and within a couple of days let you know the results.

Hint: We will almost always hire a customer!  That might give you an idea of where you should spend your time drinking coffee and hanging out.
